Desiree Buckman - Billing & Insurance Coordinator

My background has been working as a medical biller and insurance coordinator for the last 10 years, mostly in California. I am originally from Los Angeles, then lived in the North Bay area just north of San Francisco and moved here in January of 2022. I met my boyfriend on a fire-watch website and flew out to visit for the first time in December of 2021; went on 5 job interviews, went back to California and had 3 job offers!!! So, I figured the Universe was giving me a nudge to leave California. Between the cost of living and the wildfires, it was getting to be too much. Initially I was working for a large healthcare business in Davenport. But it was extremely stressful working as a unit secretary in the E.R. lab and I decided that I needed a change in my life and to downsize and reduce my stress, so I am very happy to have ended up here at The Healing Heart Center.

In my off hours I enjoy reading, and listening to music, coloring in adult coloring books i.e. Zen mandalas and nature scenes like flowers and animals, also going to the movies and going out to eat. I also volunteer at a hospice house in Bettendorf.
